I love to help people with their technology needs, especially when it comes to improving their business processes. I have been doing this for a long time and I enjoy sitting with the business and discussing their challenges and then figuring out how we can solve them collectively.
During my prior work in Fortune 500 corporations, I wore many hats. Starting as a programmer, then a systems architect, and later as a Chief Technology Officer (CTO), I have worked on a wide range of projects to improve operations and increase revenue. I worked on large multi-million dollar projects such as an SAP implementation for a high-tech manufacturer, automating transactions between annuity providers, and multiple brokerages that saved millions of dollars by eliminating manual tasks and reducing error rates.

These are some recent and on going projects I have done for my clients. They all tend to touch our key competencies of application development, analytics, and migration to cloud-based service.

INSURANCE PLATFORM

Rewrote an in-premise client-server desktop application as a cloud-based web application that supports over 100,000 members and is the primary system the business runs on. The system handles every aspect of the business, from managing members and cases to paying claims and commissions.

QUOTING & SALES TRACKING

A web-based application for a global concrete supplier to submit price quotes and track projects for federal, state, and local construction jobs. The jobs are tracked and updated by the sales team. Real-time analytics and executive dashboards provide insight into the sales operation.

HOME HEALTHCARE AGENCY PLATFORM

A HIPAA compliant web-based platform used by over 100 home healthcare providers that is primarily used for Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) via phone/IVR, text, and mobile app. The system handled over 20,000 visits a day and runs the day to day operation of an agency. The system also integrates with medical billing/payment solutions.

EMERGENCY EMPLOYEE NOTIFICATION PLATFORM

Tech: Google Geolocation, JavaScript, Ionic, MongoDb, PubNub (messaging), Twilio-API

In an emergency (i.e. a first-shooter event, a fire) employers need to know which employees are in any given facility and then be able to communicate with them. This is a mobile app that checks in the employee automatically when they enter the premises of a facility using geolocation. The admin app (both mobile and web) allows the administrators to send and receive in-app messages or text messages to employees within those facilities.

HOSPITAL DATA ANALYSIS

Tech: .NET, MS SQL-Server, HIPAA compliant hosting/security, Pentaho ETL.

De-identified EMR data from a 10 hospital network is consolidated to a single database and curated with other data sets. The application known as CiManager is used by these hospitals to identify and demonstrate improved quality and outcomes, monitor measures of performance and patient safety, and uncover key areas for financial and operational efficiencies.

MEDICAL ESTIMATED PAYMENT AND ANALYSIS

Tech: AngularJS, MySQL, PHP, hosted on AWS Cloud, Google BigQuery, Pentaho ETL

Used daily by over 3,500 active users in hospitals and consulting companies to determine medicare payments. It uses a series of curated data and algorithms to determine the payments and costs. It also integrates with a third-party medical grouping engine to determine the correct DRG based on the diagnosis and procedures performed.

SOIX DATA COLLECTION AND REPORTING PLATFORM

Tech: AngularJS, AWS-RDS Aurora/MySQL, NodeJS, hosted on AWS Cloud, Pentaho ETL

Used by ambulatory surgery centers to transfer clinical data from their management information system or abstract the same data from medical records for benchmarking their clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction in support of accreditation, risk management, and improved patient outcomes.

EXECUTIVE DASHBOARDS FOR HOSPITALS

Tech: Tableau Server, MySQL, Pentaho ETL

An interactive dashboard used by hospitals in Maryland to better understand their market and competitors. This is a dashboard I created for one hospital which was later marketed as a service offering. We currently have 14 hospitals using it. We use the state of Maryland’s claims data, which we curate using Pentaho/spoon (ETL).

CLAIMS DATA WAREHOUSE

Tech: MIRTH Server CONNECT/HL7, MySQL, JavaScript

A service that stores claim data uploaded by healthcare providers into an HIPAA compliant secure data warehouse. The EDI-837 and EDI-835 documents which are in EDI format are converted on the fly and loaded into a SQL database. Access to this data is made available via a Web Service (WSDL/XML) to trusted 3rd party applications.

SALES LEADS FOR MEDICAL DEVICES COMPANY

Tech: AngularJS, MySQL, hosted on Rackspace Cloud

Created a visualization to understand the relationships between Diagnosing Physicians and Procedural Physicians based on patient claims data sets. The dashboards were used by the sales team to find qualified leads.

PRESCHOOL PROGRESS TRACKING APPLICATION - ICENCEO

Tech: JavaScript, MySQL, Could-server

A progress tracking application designed for early childhood education institutions. With its interactive views and online dashboard reporting, iCenceo was designed for teachers to communicate with parents on the progress of their child. The product was developed for Goddard Schools, and later purchased by AWE (a preschool learning content management provider.)

COMMERCIAL READY MIX ANALYSIS

Tech: Pentaho ETL, MySQL database, Tableau Desktop, Tableau Online

Operational dashboards to understand performance in the ready-mix delivery cycle. This includes time analysis and delivery performance from the time an order is received, truck is loaded and leaves the plant, reaches destination and unloads concrete, truck returns to plant, and is washed.

OMNIA GROUP - NEW HIRE ASSESSMENT PLATFORM

Tech: JavaScript, Flex, MySQL, secure cloud hosting/security

Rewrote an in-premise/desktop application as a web-based application. This is a software-as-a-service product. The platform is used by small and large corporation to match behavior traits of new hires. It is generally used in the on-boarding and hiring process.

PATIENT PROCEDURES TIME ANALYSIS

Tech: Tableau Desktop, Tableau Online, AWS cloud server, MySQL

The project is to understanding the time it takes between the various stages of a patient's care at a clinic. The task is to identify bottlenecks and reduce wait times.
